For starters, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 carrying the model number MSM8937. The SoC will sport a total of eight cores clocked at 1.40 GHz based on the ARM Cortex-A53 architecture. Additionally, the phone will be backed up by 3GB of RAM and feature Google’s latest Android Nougat 7.0. The single-core Geekbench score is marked at 682 and for multi-core, 2745. In comparison, Xiaomi’s 3S Prime which is powered by the same processor has been rated at around 627 in the single-core Geekbench test. Given the processor is still manufactured in 28-nanometer scale, it is safe to say Nokia D1C will feature the Adreno 505 GPU. Furthermore, Snapdragon 430 at the maximum supports full HD resolutions, hence a couple of reports which revealed a 5.5-inch 1080p panel and 3GB of RAM might be true after all. Previous rumors stated that there will be most probably two models with different screen sizes and storage options, Nokia D1C that we saw today, if true, will be the bigger one. Nokia has been gradually revisiting the commercial market, they recently acquired Withings, a French fitness-oriented wearable company. They’ve also been active in the Virtual Reality space and were supposed to launch the Nokia OZO capturing rig somewhere in November. It will be fascinating to see how they claim the throne lost with Microsoft three years ago. In retrospect, the last Nokia-branded smartphone was the Lumia 730 released in back in September 2014. Update: A new Antutu benchmark test has confirmed that the upcoming Nokia handset will feature a full-HD panel of unknown size, Adreno 505 GPU, and 13MP rear as well as an 8MP front camera.
